Here are some pics of River Dell from last winter with a bit of snow around. And that’s pretty much what we get here in the Valley.

We don’t miss being in a place where snow is an ever-accumulating reality; we like it better as a kind of passing novelty. Though we can’t really call this place a Winter Wonderland, winter is kind of wonderful in it’s own way.

For one thing, it’s short! And here by the river we can see more of the surroundings with the leaves off of the trees. The sunrises are later and often more spectacular, and as it rises the sun really lights up (and warms up!) the place.

River Dell is a great place for a weekend (or weekday) getaway. There’s still plenty to do. The Caverns and the Skyline Drive remain open, and there are good restaurants, shops and museums in the area. Come and see us! We’d love to have you.
