Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday celebration, for a variety of reasons. It is the singular American holiday that everyone celebrates. My extended family does they same things in the same place every year, and we all love it. And of all the holidays, it’s the least commercialized. I guess it’s hard to make money off of thankfulness.
We have been in business at River Dell for over a year now, and it has been encouraging. People love the place and appreciate the accommodations. And we really like having guests! We’ve had quite a mix of folks and have enjoyed them all. We are truly thankful that we are in this new place, pursuing this new venture.
As we enter the late fall and winter months, we’re promoting River Dell as a romantic getaway, a purposeful or just relaxing retreat, with the opportunity to experience the Shenandoah Valley. Luray Caverns are open all year (literally every day). The Skyline Drive is beautiful in the winter. There is still much to do, if you want to!
