“The old has passed, all things are becoming new.” While not its primary application, this biblical principle certainly applies to springtime. After the winter dormancy everything slowly comes back to life. We like that it happens much sooner here in the Shenandoah Valley than it did in upstate New York. And this year it has started earlier than usual, promising an extended spring awakening. Forsythia, daffodils, hellebore, magnolias and redbud trees are all out on the property at River Dell. Soon the leaves will return – “just a little green, like the color when the spring is born,” as Joni Mitchell sang nearly fifty years ago.
We love being in a place where this happens, especially this early. As we slowly transition to summer, the river and the mountains beckon – come join us at the Dell!
